Youth Activities

Providing education, prevention and familiarization of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in a non-emergent situation is Eagle County Health Service District’s goal for kids. We have several programs in place which are aimed at providing this education for kids of all ages.

In recognition of National Safe Kids week we visit the local preschools and elementary schools and give presentations on topics such as occupant safety in motor vehicles, helmet use, and 911 access in an emergency.

“Camp 911” provides middle school children with the knowledge, skills and understanding of how to handle an emergency situation calmly and effectively in the absence of adults.

We attend local high school career fairs and are partnering with other county emergency agencies to present a program called You Hold the Key for new and inexperienced drivers.

Periodically we provide presentations on first aid and CPR for babysitter safety classes, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and driver’s education classes.
