SENIOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Promoting wellness among seniors in our district has become a monthly occurrence.

Twice a month Eagle County Ambulance District travels to Minturn and McCoy for the senior luncheons. Paramedics and EMTs speak individually to the seniors about their general health and evaluate blood pressure and blood sugar levels and monitor cardiac rhythm and oxygen levels.

Through this program we are able to help educate the seniors about their general health and promote overall wellness. This interaction also allows the seniors to become familiar with our services in a non-emergent situation.

The District also hosts an annual Health and Wellness Fair for seniors age 60 and up that brings health related resources together to provide Seniors a chance to focus on their individual health needs with a variety of exams and screenings by physicians and medical technicians from around the county.
